Small Household Repairs Clear in One Visit
As of November 2026, odd jobs in Tavira can be paid by the hour or by the service. The first hour costs €50 and each hour after it €40, or we quote a fixed price for the whole job before starting.
Most homes accumulate small defects over time—a shelf that was never hung, a curtain rail pulling out of hollow brick, a dripping tap, or a sticking door catch. Calling a separate trade for each issue means waiting weeks and paying multiple call-out fees. The odd job service combines these tasks into a single booked visit, handled efficiently with a full kit of tools and hardware.
What is included:
- Hanging shelves, pictures, mirrors, and curtain poles on hollow brick, lime plaster, or drywall.
- Replacing toilet seats, tap washers, shower heads, and degraded silicone seals.
- Swapping faceplates, fitting light switches, or changing existing light fixtures.
- Adjusting cabinet hinges, sticking doors, and loose door handles.
- Re-attaching loose skirting boards, filling small wall holes, and minor touch-up painting.
What is NOT included (Legal boundary):
To comply with legal safety standards in Portugal, we do not undertake new electrical installations, main panel modifications, gas system work, or major plumbing re-routes. Any work requiring DGEG-certified electricians or certified gas technicians is passed directly to a licensed partner within the Tavira Services network—ensuring a single contact point and a compliant invoice.
Why Houses in Tavira Need Specific Fixes
Homes in Tavira, Cabanas, and Santa Luzia present unique challenges due to local building styles and coastal climate:
- Hollow Brick Walls: Standard plasterboard plugs fail in traditional perforated clay bricks. We carry heavy-duty chemical anchors and dedicated brick fixings.
- Salt Air Corrosion: Proximity to the Ria Formosa seizes metal fittings quickly. Hinges and catches are lubricated with marine-grade silicone grease during every fix.
- Seasonal Houses: Unheated properties closed during winter develop surface damp or stiff fixtures. We systematically clear these issues during spring open-ups.
